Pitching a better future for accessible travel
Dive into the darkness

Real world demos – we gave users the opportunity to take Canwha for a spin, with an NFC-enabled "touchpoint" and a Play prototype they could interact with to activate the top up experience

The new dot iconography system – a new icon, nav and text experience powered by magically transforming dots that shift depending on the context, and react to motion

Pitching a better future for accessible travel

Working with a brief from Transport for London, Canwha imagines a future experience where beacons and technology work together through sound cues to guide users around any station, from entry to platform, through gates and transfers, and to help points or terminals.

Co-created with Louie Harvey and Ejae Kim, the Canwha project focused on utilising sound, rich visuals and spatial design to create a concept for the future of accessible travel – with a deep focus on navigational benefit for blind or visually impaired users who primarily rely upon sound to navigate. Pitching to TfL Design Leaders – we invited the TfL design leadership to test our experience demo first-hand, with an open exhibition inviting everyone to try out our envisioned future for navigating the station

Easily navigate any station – a new intuitive app experience makes finding anything in a station easy and fast, from platforms, to entry and exit, and readers or machines.

Dynamic in visibility – real world elements like the reader, top up machine or exit appear in visibility, and then recede when the user decends to a lower level of the station, replaced with a functional overhead map view.

An experience that spans context – across screens, consistent elements maintained mental anchoring with a familiar position, while dynamic elements moved between environments, shifting and transforming to move with you.
